In Limbo
In Limbo - liquid silicone casts, mirrored discs, sand, pigment, 2016
The project In Limbo explores the idea of childhood memories and how we construct ourselves as individuals. This installation is made of silicone casts mounted on sand on mirrored discs dispersed on the floor. At once the sand castles are familiar but also invite you to question their materiality and meaning. The mirrors bend the reflected space and the viewers back on themselves as well as accentuating the physicality of the sand. Poured and moulded flesh-coloured silicone evokes human skin and the idea of the body in the space.
